   Birds crowd the feeder
      as the cat chitters, frustrated.

Raven, black wings cocked.
    Brown and yellow leaves shudder
in an earthy breeze.

Sable figure crouched
   among the pines, green and brown.
      A scorched snag deceives.

White wind flows -
      rapid movement mirage
            on tundra.

Neon lights roaring
on a scene of desperate joy;
    then, a man sneezes.

A shadow shivers,
looks with gold eyes at the new.
   Welcome to your new home!

A best friend curls close
his purr completing the cycle.
