Ocean's scent, breeze, thrum:
      the pain and relief
      of simply being.

To stand in awe,
familiar and yet unknown:
a painting to cherish.

To know your hero's
choice in wallpaper, glassware,
is sweetly intimate.

Maritime powerhouse,
laid bare and exposed...
   eager to rejoin the chase.

Dark, glistening back
   shrugs off the eternal waves
       with divine patience.

Above, arrow-straight,
the jet ascends while below
starlings weave and wind.

The Autumnal moon
snips out an orange arc
into a starless night.

a river of bobbing heads
          laps up against
     farmers' bountiful stalls

During Monsoon time
   the sky, charmed by the earth,
tries on the colors of wildflowers. 

   Solstice sunshine
   pets a dandelion seed,
      dancing along a breeze.

The shadowed cocklebur
hitches a ride on a passing boot.

   soft, rounded clouds
in a gentle repose -
softly caressed by the breeze.

Alone during migration,
     probing pond-side mud,
this unconcerned Willet.

The smell of rich compost,
and harvests yet to be,
        blown away by spring winds.

brittle with ice
    a wind chime's note
in a spring breeze

     Moonlight on paper -
her crooked arm
     follows the ink.
