Train roars past
   lifting tendrils of snow -
      ghosts dancing in the sun.

Blue snow under foot,
   heavy branches draped in white
      line the path into town.

She inhales, then dives
   as the sun sets -
      songs are song below.

Black tadpole rises
through the green, murky water -
Gulp! It sinks below.

A warm, sun-kissed day -
the crusty snow pile sulks
'neath a naked apple tree.

Halfway through winter,
   the sun sparkles on crystal snow
 swirled by arctic wind.
